Welcome Home Daddy!

Daddy has been in England for the last week. He sent Mama some flowers and chocolates and wine to keep her company while he was away.

Mama and Jackson have been busy gardening, Spring cleaning, working, playing, and getting our hair done. We're glad you're back!

Harry

One of Jackson's favourite books at the moment is Harry the Dirty Dog. He decided that one of his bowling-pin friends that Granma got him for his birthday should be called Harry.

Harry accompanies Jackson a lot these days. Here are Harry and Jackson counting all the machines in the book.

Queensland Holiday

We had a great time in the Daintree Rainforest of Queensland! We flew into Cairns, had a nice brunch and visited a fruit and veggie market for supplies, and then headed up through the sugarcane fields.

To get to the rainforest house we were staying in, we had to cross a crocodile infested river on a car ferry!

Our house was great! It was in the middle of the rainforest with beautiful palms all around, including fan palms that dwarfed Jackson.

It we really relaxing in the rainforest house, which was called Wait-Awhile after vines by the same name that encircle you and won't let go (so you have to "wait awhile" till they loosen).

There was even a pool, though it was very cold--we preferred swimming in the nearby warm ocean.

Daddy made us some nice meals on the BBQ!

One of the many beaches was a 10 minute walk from our house. There were signs for cassowaries (giant endangered birds, a little like emus) all over, but we only saw one on our last day.

We went on a number of interesting rainforest walks.

On one of them, a vine--maybe a Wait Awhile!--reached down and grabbed Jackson's hat, and we had to go back for it.

One morning we went on a crocodile boat tour on the Daintree River.

We saw this small, three year old male.

We also spent a lot of time on various beaches, and swam in the ocean.

Jackson has never been a big fan of sand...

But once Mama showed him how to make sandcastles, he couldn't get enough!

Constructionism
