The Notting Hill Carnival

We attended the Notting Hill Carnival in London last weekend. Jackson had fun amid the loud music from the soundsystems, the amazingly costumed dancers, and yummy food like dumplins, grilled plantains and jerk chicken.

He also got to try sugar cane for the first time.

Daddy took some video, which we are having trouble posting--but stay tuned!

What A Difference A Year Makes

On Saturday we met up with Mathilda and her parents Louisa and John. We met Mathilda when she and Jackson were both in the special baby unit right after they were both born a day or so apart. Mathilda was many weeks premature, and stayed on in the hopsital long after Jackson got to come home.
But as you can see, she is doing great now!

A few recent adventures

We've been very busy this last week sorting out all sorts of business ahead of the (forever delayed) big move. Here are a few photos of some recent adventures.

Adventure in London with Lili

While Lili was here, Jackson and Daddy accompanied her to London for the Buckingham Palace exhibition of the State Room.

They also wet to Fortnum and Mason's afterwards, where Jackson got two little cones of ice cream, but ended up sharing Daddy's banana split.

A good time was had by all, and Mama was able to get some packing and thesis work done!

Jackson's Birthday Report

After we sang happy birthday, Jackson opened cards and presents.

Jackson had so much fun with the big train and the animal wheel and itsy bitsy spider card from Noname and Grandaddy, and he got a kick out of the meowing card and musical gifts from Gracie Cat and Baxter Cat.
He loves the daschund piano from Granma.

He also has so much fun dancing to the singing, story-telling Pooh Bear Lili brought.

After presents we had lunch and cake! FUN!!!

Lili in Brighton

Lili has arrived to help Mama and Daddy get all packed for Melbourne and to have fun with Jackson.

Lili is a miracle worker: Mama and Daddy have gotten to have two nights out together, not to mention she is fantastic at problem solving and wrapping breakables and packing boxes.
