Gardening

Jackson and Mama have been having fun gardening since the weather's been pretty mild (high 60s F) lately. Jackson likes to use his little gardening set Lili got him for his birthday.

In the next few day we will be potting capsicum, jalepeno, cherry tomatoes, and carrots.

Jackson's 2nd Birthday

Jackson turned 2 one week ago! Mama made two cakes, and she, Daddy, and Jackson took one to Jackson's school to share. All Jackson's classmates were waiting under a big sign that Christine painted that said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKSON!" We all had cake and played and got to bring the sign home.
That evening, Granma and Lili came over to party! Jackson was particularly taken with the wrapping on Lili's gifts, which featured lots of different trucks.
Mama and Daddy surprised Jackson with a living room full of presents and goodies, such as pickles and gummy bears!

Jackson had fun feeding cheese to Granma. He loves the bowling set and the Friends of the Zoo membership she gave him!

Jackson's present from Lili was this lawnmower and a gardening set (complete with little gloves) so he can help Mama in the garden!

Next Jackson opened some presents from Mama and Daddy, including a scooter!

After presents, we had Jackson's favourite pizza (ham and pineapple) and then it was finally time for yet more cake!

(A big thanks to Lili for a lot of the photos!)

Fun in America: Baxter

Jackson really enjoyed seeing Gracie and Baxter Cats at 'Name and Grandaddy's house.

While young Gracie was (understandably) a bit skittish, former wild-man and Mama-Daddy Baxter was totally patient, letting Jackson pick him up, boozle his fur, and nap with him.

Fun in America: Machines

One of Jackson's favourite things in America (and in general) was seeing big trucks and machinery! He loves to spot and identifiy them.

As you can see, he even got to touch a backhoe and sit on a steamroller! FUN.

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, JACKSON!

Today, Jackson is two years old!

We had a pre-birthday celebration with 'Name and Grandaddy in Magnolia. It was a little intimidating for Jackson at first.

But Daddy helped him blow out a candle and make a wish.

Today Jackson will go to school at 3pm and celebrate with his friends and cake. And then there may be a little surprise party at our house with Granma and Lili. More photos soon...

Magnolia in July Part 1

After Anne and Chris's wedding, Mama and Jackson headed back down to Magnolia with 'Name and Grandaddy, but we stopped off first to wade in the Buffalo River.

'Name and Grandaddy had a lot of surprises waiting for us, such as this great airplane!

We enjoyed going on a big walks through SAU and the farm road after breakfast most days. We saw lots of machines (see future post), and when we got to the duck pond, Jackson would ride his turtle after feeding the ducks.

Jackson had a great time swimming in 'Name and Grandaddy's pool!

It was also fun to play the big piano. 'Name taught Jackson how to play "I Dropped My Dolly" with his pointer fingers, and also how to find middle C.

Jackson figured out how to eat corn on the cob all by himself!

We had a great time watching Uncle Jerry and Aunt Kay's video and slide shows from Anne and Chris's wedding.
