Parcel from Granma
It also contained a lovely sleeping bag with a cat on it, and a card with dachshunds on it.
Jackson knows all about cats and what they say, but he's just started to understand dogs and what they say.
Yesterday afternoon we read all the books about dogs that we have, so it was fitting to end the day learning about the old Ben, and looking forward to wearing the kitty cat sleeping bag when we go to Australia to meet Great-aunt Lili's new Ben and Granma's dogs Oscar and Felix.
Rattle and Roll
Here's Jackson playing with his rattle and sitting up like a big boy--till he topples over. He can sit unassisted and play for long spells now, up to 15 or 20 minutes.

Things We Did in America: Meeting More Family!
More from the backlog of photos from our trip to the US in January.
Jackson got to hang out with his Uncle Jerry and Aunt Kay. They gave him a leopard, a very apt gift as Jackson loves dressing like a leopard!
Jackson also got to meet his Uncle Grady and Aunt Nell. He also met the Clanton cats, Baxter and Gracie, who were very sweet and tolerant with him.

Things We Did in America: Wal-Mart
How We Spent Our Christmas Vacation, Part 2: USA
After Jackson's first plane trip, we spent the night at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock. It was Jackson's first night in a hotel.
Noname and Grandaddy picked us up and we drove to Magnolia after watching the duck parade at the hotel.
Jackson had a great cake waiting on him!
At night we admired Noname and Grandaddy's Christmas decorations...
...and during the day we went for walks around SAU and the farm road and the neighbourhood.
On New Year's Eve we all went out to eat after opening MORE Chrismas presents!
Some of us didn't make it till midnight, but got into the spirit of things anyway!More updates from our time in the USA to come....

First Airplane Trip! (28th Dec)
Jackson had his first big plane trip on 28th December.
He travelled to his US grandparents' house from London to Dallas and then to Little Rock.
He got a special kids pack on the first flight, and on the little flight to LR, the nice flight gave him an AA wings badge, which Jackson proudly wears on his sling now (even though AA isn't Jax's parents' favourite airline).

Jackson's First Nursery Week
It's official. Jackson's mama's laptop was pronouncd dead by an IT technician earlier today. However, she has figured out a way to upload her photos onto the site using Jackson's daddy's PC. So expect some updates soon.
Yesterday was a big day for Jackson: it was his first afternoon at nursery! He will be going Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:45 to 5:30pm, while his mama tries to finsih a draft of her long overdue thesis.
Here's the info sheet we sent with him:

Jackson's mama and daddy had lunch out together, something they hadn't done by themselves in quite some time.
Jackson was in a great mood when we picked him up; he didn't want to leave the pretty nursery workers or even look at his mama at first! He slept really well too--stayed in his own bed all night long!
